Extra Space Storage - RATE INCREASE, RATE INCREASE, RATE INCREASE!
WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF MOVING IN THEY JACKED MY RENT $20 A MONTH, A FEW MONTHS LATER THEY RAISED IT ANOTHER $10 AND NOW ANOTHER $8. ONLY ONCE DID I RECEIVE A NOTICE OF RENT INCREASE.
MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE CONTRACT. I'M PAYING ALMOST 50% MORE THAN WHEN I MOVED IN LAST YEAR. FIND SOMEPLACE ELSE!!! I WOULD HAVE MOVED SOONER BUT HAVE A BAD BACK AND HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE.
I WILL BE GONE SOON.
THEY KNOW WHAT A PAIN IT IS TO MOVE AND THAT PEOPLE WILL JUST KEEP PAYING. I DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU.

Extra Space Storage is a scam!!! Now in New York City they charging 30% more that competition!!!
Their facilities are very dirty and personel is very arrogant and vulgar !!!

yes my friend they just continue to raise the rent here in palm coast fla i have 3 units with them what a scam iam looking to move out now
Yes sir I have the same complaint constant rate increases, they swear they mail post card notices. They lie and the managers are indignant called me a liar kept yelling at me shouting about the contract I signed??? I believe we need to file a joint class lawsuit!!
What does anybody else think?
This happened in Maryland but I think it's countrywide!
Dlg
HAD an Extra Space storage unit and they said they wanted to and could raise their rates close to the highest in the market. I had a 35 dollar a month increase after an increase less than a year earlier and they told me that the new rate was what the market/competition was getting so there was nothing wrong with their price.
And yes read that fine print and question any storage unit manager/company that wants you to sign their paper work.
I bet half couldn't give you an honest answer if they wanted to.
Storage unit companies, especially the big national chains raise their rates regularly because that's the only way they can show their share holders and investors a sales profit increase.
They are not happy with steady profitable income-they want more. This is also why they try to hit you up for over priced accessories like locks, boxes and insurance(which they shouldn't be allowed to sell).
Also a lot of storage unit sales people and property managers don't really make it clear they are giving you a move in special which definitely will be followed by at least one price increase.
id like to run them out of busisness altogether i will be talking to other people who rent there also
