Never fixing my storage door and i ran into cause it came down
So from day 1 my door on storage would not stay up by itself I tried on 2/7/23 to contact someone about me running into the door and getting hurt couldnt get through to anyon I asked Tiffany about getting door fixed nothing ever happened with it I also spoke to Edward and Sean that work there still no one ever helped me get my door fixed I should have called 911 when I ran into the door because it had creeped down by itself Im still thinking of contacting an attorney to find out my rights I called the number on door 888 storage the number Edward gave me to contact someone all that number done for me was to send me back to Edward whom was very rude

NICK the so called manager. Threatening me to toe my trailer. After the spot I pay for was blocked by another vehicle.
User's recommendation: Watch out for this company. They will jack the price up on you. And over crown there spaces. Plus people are allowed to walk threw the gate with out codes

Unprofessional
I work graveyard shift and go in during evening to get my work uniform for my job. Then leave and grab my other clothes.
I was accused by demeaning insults from the site manager Melissa at Burlingame location. She humiliated me and tried to say I was on drugs. The utter audacity I was appalled and more than upset. Not only has she caused me to be late from work because I could not get access to the property before gate hours were closed, my unit was paid so there was no reason for me to not get access.
I miss today's work due to this because I could not get my uniform which cost me gravely. Then she wanted to put out to everyone that I was on drugs I was shocked mortified humiliated and belittled and I would hope that she would be reprimanded for the suffering that she has caused an humiliation that I have to feel each and every time that I go to my storage unit I don't appreciate her trying to demean me or belittle me or make me out to be something that I'm not. This is more than unprofessional this is an outrage how dare extra space storage treat their tenants this way I'm a paying customer I've never had these problems with previous managers this is the lowest form of your hiring that I've ever witnessed and I'm disgusted. And when I went in my unit was overlocked my unit is paid this is ridiculous there should be a notification or some kind of reasoning but I have not received any calls or any letters of any kind stating any reason why my unit was locked over that was not my luck and I could not enter it yet again costing me another days work this is ridiculous and you guys should act more professional and be more grown-up.
I don't know if it's because of the color of my skin or because of my job.
But I'm a hard-working person and nobody deserves to be treated like this and I hope that extra space storage would stand up for their tenants the ones that are paying and creating a job for these people and not make us feel so worthless and unappreciated by the company. I really hope that you guys will retrain Melissa and send her to some type of a school or program so that she can learn manners as well because that is the most disrespectful thing anybody has ever tried to claim against me and my emotional mental well-being are both damaged from this and don't be surprised if you hear from my lawyer very soon.

User's recommendation: I do not recommend the storage they're liars and they do not uphold to their standards of customer service they do the complete opposite be little overcharged and are rude to you they don't give you any warning or any notice on anything they just accuse you even if you have proof that you were not in fact at the storages that you were at your job but they try to and on top of that having your car break down and letting them know and then having them tow it is beyond me I literally came in the next day to get it started but she told me to leave the property this was appalling and ridiculous I am completely upset and I would never recommend this place ever to anyone not if you want your possessions to be stolen from you or for you to be missing out on your work due to their negligence and their carelessness and their personal feelings and bias against people.

My 10 X 5 storage unit located in Santa Clara, CA (Laurelwood Rd) was broken into in Late Jan 22. Even though it had 2 locks, the thieves removed the pins from the hinges and opened the door wide enough to remove the items.
I immediately complained to the managers that actually live there and I asked them how are they going to prevent from this happening again. And said there is nothing they could do. They have no cameras inside the hallways of the building. The elevator closer to the exit gate allows anyone to go to any unit, and easily open any unit they want.
A month plus before mine was broken into , a number of units were broken into as well.
This time they cut the metal brackets where the locks are located. The useless managers just give you the Police department phone number (Santa Clara PD - 408-615-****) so u can file a complaint and use it to claim to the insurance company

I'm in New York City and have been renting a storage unit at extra space storage in the Bronx. I've been renting there for almost 4yrs straight but about 2 yrs ago I did a news article on them for not having a working elevator in a 7 plus store building for over 2 yrs but meanwhile still charging the clients the same fees.
In November of 2021 I had a outstanding payment of $700 in which I paid on November 3rd 2021. In December I was called and said that I had a late fee and during this time they raised my fee from $168 month to $198 monthly without my consent nor approval. I recently went to check my belongs and was told that they auctioned it off on February 3rd 2022. They sent emails to address that's not my e mail address, was calling a phone number that wasn't mines on file and claim to have sent me a certified letter in which I never received.
Is it a way that they can track this letter down? I feel that they did it to retaliate against me for doing the Channel 12 News interview on their lack of having a working elevator for over 2yrs.. I personally feel that the workers stole me property because a lot of sneakers and clothing was in my storage unit. This is the bill that they sent me whereas they raised my bill without my consent which turn caused them to auction off my belongings so they say.
Where is the tracking NUMBER ? They switched workers and probably had zero communication amongst the staff and this is the results. THIS IS 100% UNACCEPTABLE!! I need my belongings or money ASAP!

User's recommendation: The same email address is the same email that I had about 2yrs ago when they replied to my last review but to send out my warning of a upcoming auction they Emailed me at a totally different email address. Unacceptable
The great advertisement of $35.00 captured my attention.
In 2021, I needed extra space for my books and a few things, so I rented two small units-one for $35 and the other one for $45. Being happy with my units and paying ahead of time at Extra Space Storage, suddenly became financially expensive.
When asked why the constant increase every 4 months now at $67ea, the response was: "the increase in renting here was due to; WHAT THE MARKET IS PAYING for the unit size being rented". New quote now being $119.00ea, for this price I decided to return the two small units back to the "WHAT THE MARKET IS PAYING".
Now the small units are back on the market for $55.00. Presently, I'm looking for two small units to rent.
